What I Wore: Monday, September 17, 2012

Today was a blah, rainy day. I attempted to get my clothes for the week together on Sunday, but it didn’t quite work out. I felt meh in this one all day, and I’m not sure why.

What I liked:
  • I liked the animal print and the yellow. I felt like it was kind of an unexpected combination
What I didn’t like:
  • There’s something “off” about this outfit, and I’m not sure what it is.

What I Wore: Friday, September 14, 2012

Yay Friday!! My parents took me, my brother, and my fiance out to dinner at a mystery location to celebrate his birthday and me finally finishing grad school. This was my effort at being casual but a little dressier than normal on Fridays.

What I liked:
  • I liked this outfit, especially the color of the shirt. I should wear color more often…
  • No ironing needed!
What I didn’t like:
  • That lovely bulge in the abdominal region…
  • These pants lost some length after being washed/dried a few times (despite doing it exactly like the tag instructed!), so they sometimes don’t stay rolled up…and fit kind of weird.
Shirt- Gap Outlet, tank top- Old Navy, pants- Old Navy, shoes- Payless

What I Wore: Thursday, September 13, 2012

Pictures in the bedroom again. I had an instruction session to teach at work today, and I spent my lunch break prepping for it rather than taking pictures of myself. Priorities, you know…

What I liked:
  • I liked that the dress doesn’t really need ironing and how it mixes black and brown (although it’s tough to see in my pics)
What I didn’t like:
  • The dress is shorter than I remember. Might be time to relegate it to the “tights or leggings only” section
  • I need new black flats. The inside of these are coming apart and they’re scuffed. I color them in with permanent marker because I’m resourceful like that.
Dress- Belk, shoes- Target

What I Wore: Wednesday, September 12, 2012

The first time I wore this dress over the summer, I wore it with moccasins and my glasses. My mom said I looked pretty frumpy. Thankfully, I did much better this time, although there was really nowhere to go but up…

What I liked:
  • The entire outfit! Comfy and semi-professionalish
What I didn’t like:
  • Boo on fabric that wrinkles easily!
  • The shoes killed my little toes by the end of the day!

What I Wore: Tuesday, September 11, 2012

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 11 years since 9/11 happened. I was actually a freshman at the college I work at, so I was literally in the same place on 09/11/01 as I was on 09/11/12. Crazy.

What I liked:
  • I liked the idea of the shrug and leggings with this dress. It’s a little revealing for work otherwise.
  • I like the colors in the dress. I’m normally pretty toned down, so it was nice to be bright!
What I didn’t like:
  • I just didn’t love all of it together. Maybe I needed different leggings or something

What I Wore: Monday, September 10, 2012

Still having weird camera issues. I took a lot of outfit pictures, but a lot of them are ghostly looking. The one below is actually the best one. I think I may ask Santa for a nice new camera (although that means admitting to him I want it for a fashion blog. Hmm…)

What I liked:
  • I like that this dress is easy to throw on and doesn’t need ironing. That seems to be the litmus test for most of my wardrobe these days…
What I didn’t like:
  • The whole outfit is kind of eh. The belt didn’t really help either.

Dress- Goodwill (maybe Motherhood maternity brand?), tank top- Old Navy, shoes- Target

What I Wore: Friday, September 7, 2012

In the past, I’ve been able to wear jeans to work on Fridays as long as I didn’t have any meetings or anything like that. I’m not sure why I’m not hopping on the jeans wagon yet. Maybe I’m still deluding myself into thinking I’m more professional looking with long shorts on. Ha.

What I liked:

  • The color palette. I’m a matchy-matchy person, so I loved how well everything seemed to go together.
  • Polka dots! I always forget about this shirt when I’m thinking about the polka dotted clothes I have

What I didn’t like:

  • The weird lumpiness around my midsection due to the belt of these shorts
  • The shoes are not comfortable…and they’re pretty loud for a library.
